Have you ever tried downloading an application from Google Playstore then it gives you a warning saying “this item is not available in your country”?

There are a number of reasons as to why you could be seeing that message. While uploading Application to play store, developers have an option to select list of countries where the Application can be visible in play store.

They test apps in smaller markets so they can work out the things such as bugs, usability issues, edge cases, and so forth.

Let’s break down some of this reasons, shall we?

Testing

It’s quite typical for developers to trial their apps in smaller markets or regions before rolling out a fully stable version worldwide. This testing process helps uncover usability glitches, bugs, and any other issues with their products. Therefore, if you find an app unavailable in your country, chances are it’s undergoing testing.

Developer’s goal

When software developers create an app, they typically have a clear objective and a specific audience in mind.  When they upload their app to the app store, they  have the option to select the country or countries in which they wish to launch it.

Various factors such as language disparities, market potential, current trends, lifestyle preferences, and localization considerations influence their decisions when making the app available in select countries.

Legal barriers

Some countries have legal regulations for some apps because there may be some sort of laws that prohibits or limits the activities of a company or an app in your country.

Licensing and copyright issues

Some apps may have music, images, or other copyrighted content that is only licensed for use in certain countries. This can prevent the app from being available in other regions.

Pricing Challenges

International pricing could also be a challenge for some developers and end up making them unable to charge for subscriptions or in-app purchases in your region.

App store policies

App store policies and guidelines set by platform providers like Apple’s App Store or Google Play Store also influence app availability. Developers must adhere to these policies, which may include restrictions on certain types of content or compliance requirements for specific markets. Failure to meet these guidelines could result in the app being unavailable in certain regions.

X is eliminating the ability for Premium users to hide their blue checkmarks, according to a notification received by multiple users on Thursday.

Just like a lot of decisions taken by X, there is no definite timeline as to when the hide your checkmark feature will go away.

Once a status symbol, the blue check lost some of its luster after X shifted to a paid verification system under Elon Musk’s ownership. A blue check then just became an indicator that the account holder paid for a Premium subscription. The feature was also abused by scammers and online impersonators, and some blue checks became the target of online harassment or mass blocking. X eventually rolled out the blue check to accounts with more than a million followers, covering most living celebrities (and some dead) as well as public figures.

The company recently eliminated the segment detailing the procedure for concealing the checkmark feature from the X Premium support page prior to dispatching notifications to users. This functionality was exclusive to subscribers in the premium tier, not accessible to those in the basic tier.

“As a Premium or Premium+ subscriber, you can choose to hide your checkmark on your account. The checkmark will be hidden on your profile and posts. The checkmark may still appear in some places, and some features could still reveal that you have an active subscription,” the description read.

The change comes shortly after X unexpectedly began adding blue checks to the accounts of “influential” users with at least 2,500 followers who pay for a premium subscription. While Elon Musk suggested that change was meant to be a perk, some of his critics — including formerly verified users — were less than pleased with the blue badge appearing on their accounts, lest others suspect them of actually paying for a subscription.

Google recently made core updates that target low-quality content and spam which has shifted the whole Search Engine Optimization (SEO) sphere.

Websites with AI generated content are the most hit in the rollout.

Recent analyses reveal that over 800 websites have been completely deindexed from Google’s search results in the early stages of the update.

This cleanup drive promises to remove up to 40% of low-quality websites that provide useless information and poor user experience – pages created just to match specific search queries.

Additionally, websites found violating Google’s guidelines or employing questionable SEO tactics will not only be penalized but completely removed both from the search results and the index.

Once your website has been deindexed, your organic search visits automatically gets affected.

Majority of the websites that have fallen in the claws of this update showed signs of AI-generated content. This is an upper hand for writers who might have lost hope in the wake of AI tools that threatened to take their jobs.

Ideally, AI learns from the content that has already been published on search engines, What Google is trying to do is to prevent these content from getting back into the system.

As the rollout progresses, Websites with quality and original content are most likely to attract more traffic.

What are the best practices for maintaining search engine rankings after Google core updates?

Here is how to maintain or improve search engine rankings after a Google core update like the March 2024 Core Update.

  • Focus on creating high-quality, original content that provides value to users.
  • Review and optimize on-page elements such as meta titles, descriptions, and overall user experience and accessibility. Ensure these elements align with current best practices.
  • Stay informed about Google’s Webmaster Guidelines and ensure your website fully complies with their policies to avoid penalties.
  • Conduct regular website audits to identify and resolve technical issues that could negatively impact search engine crawlability and indexing.
  • Build a diverse backlink profile by earning links from reputable and relevant sources within your industry or niche.
  • Continuously monitor changes in search algorithms and be prepared to adapt your SEO strategies as needed to align with updated best practices and ranking factors.

Artificial Intelligence has been taking the world by storm in the recent days from developments across various areas. Seemingly, new AI tools keep flooding the web day after day. Some more advanced like Sora and some just a replica of others.

Just the other day Google paused Gemini’s AI image generation of people after major backlash on the internet. Google later responded stating that they were aware of the inaccuracies in some historic image generation depictions.

Google’s rough road

Google seem to be having a rough month. Not too long after Gemini 1.5 breakthrough they were overshadowed by OpenAI’s Sora. And now, their release of Gemma, a new open-source family of AI models, was dwarfed by the backlash.

While they are still holding on the last straw, the tech giant announced a yet new AI tool branded ‘Help Me Write’ too. The AI is powered by Gemini and allows users to generate AI writing or revisions with a single click.

Enough of Google. Stability AI unveiled Stable Diffusion 3, a new iteration of the company’s image generator. The model is a text-to-image model, utilizing a diffusion transformer architecture for greatly improved performance in multi-subject prompts, image quality, and spelling abilities. It is backed by a new transformer architecture similar to OpenAI’s Sora.

Magic doing some magic

Magic, a startup building AI coding “coworkers”, claims to have made a massive AI breakthrough. The startup claims its model now can ingest up to 3.5M words (nearly 5x Gemini 1.5) and made an ‘active reasoning’ breakthrough reminiscent of OpenAI’s Q*

On February 15, 2024, Magic announced a $117M raise led by former Github CEO Nat Friedman to build a frontier-scale AI code models, seeking to structure an ‘AI software engineer’ on the path towards Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).

Reddit partners with Google

When Reddit reported that they were selling its data for AI training, its buyer remained a mystery to many. But not for too long. Google was revealed as the partnering company for this project. The $60M deal will grant the search giant access to its user content for AI model training.

Social media platforms are goldmines of data for training AI models. While Meta and X have their own AI ambitions, others (like Reddit) could easily sign huge deals like this to reap immediate value from the data.

The deal also comes prior to Reddit’s initial public offering, so there’s a reason for them to boost value quickly

Moonshot

Chinese startup Moonshot AI raised over $1B at a $2.5B valuation from backers including Alibaba. The startup focuses on the development of large language models  (LLM) handling long-form text and has a ChatGPT alternative called ‘Kimi Chat’.

China’s AI has been accelerating behind the curtains and very little is known on what’s in the kitchen.

GPT updates

OpenAI released new updates to GPTs for both creators and users. Expanded profile options are coming to the platform alongside new ratings and feedback forms to provide to builders.

GPTs ‘About’ section can now include features such as builder social profiles, ratings, categories, conversation starters and other GPTs by the builder.

NVIDIA

NVIDIA blew past expectations with its Q4 earnings report, with a 265% year-over-year increase and massive data center revenue. The result? Up over a whopping 16%, pushing market cap passed Google and claiming position as the third largest stock in the world.

NVIDIA seem to be dominating AI, blockchain and gaming spaces.

Sora shaking film industry

OpenAI’s Sora still remains to be an out-of-this world text-to-video model. Sora can generate videos up to a minute long while maintaining visual quality and adherence to the user’s prompt.

Sora is able to generate complex scenes with multiple characters, specific types of motion, and accurate details of the subject and background. The model understands not only what the user has asked for in the prompt, but also how those things exist in the physical world.

Reports claim that Tyler Perry put his $800M film studio on hold after seeing OpenAI Sora. The Billionaire is concerned if no regulations are put in place but is actively looking for advantages AI brings to the table.

Over the past four years, Perry had been planning an $800 million expansion of his studio in Atlanta, which would have added 12 soundstages to the 330-acre property. Now, however, those ambitions are on hold — thanks to the rapid developments he’s seeing in the realm of artificial intelligence.

Google Temporarily Halts Gemini AI’s People Image Generation Amid Backlash https://qnowit.com/2024/02/23/google-temporarily-halts-gemini-ais-people-image-generation-amid-backlash/ Fri, 23 Feb 2024 08:54:04 +0000 https://qnowit.com/?p=1658 The decision comes amidst growing concerns over inaccuracies in historical representations, where white figures were erroneously portrayed as people of color.

Google’s ambitious AI project, Gemini AI, formerly known as Bard, has hit a temporary roadblock as the tech giant announced the suspension of its image generation feature, particularly concerning depictions of people.

The decision comes amidst growing concerns over inaccuracies in historical representations, where white figures were erroneously portrayed as people of color. This move underscores Google’s commitment to addressing biases and ensuring the ethical use of AI technologies.

The decision to halt Gemini AI’s image generation capability stems from recent controversies surrounding its depiction of individuals in historical contexts. While the technology aims to provide a diverse range of images, the discrepancies discovered have prompted Google to take a step back and reevaluate the algorithms responsible for generating these visuals.

By acknowledging these shortcomings, Google demonstrates its dedication to maintaining integrity and accuracy in AI applications.

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, emphasized the importance of this pause, noting that rectifying these issues is paramount before reintroducing an enhanced version of Gemini AI. The company is actively working on improvements to ensure that future iterations of the technology produce more accurate and culturally sensitive representations.

This proactive approach reflects Google’s commitment to responsible AI development and its recognition of the impact such technologies can have on society.

The temporary suspension of Gemini AI’s people image generation feature comes at a pivotal moment for Google’s AI initiatives. Earlier this month, the company rebranded its AI platform from Bard to Gemini, signaling an expansion of capabilities beyond image generation. With the introduction of Gemini Advanced, Google aims to push the boundaries of AI by focusing on reasoning and collaboration, among other functionalities.

Pichai highlighted the platform’s potential in various domains, including following instructions, coding assistance, and creative collaboration, showcasing Google’s vision for the future of AI.

In today’s fast-paced digital world, brands face fierce competition when it comes to capturing consumers’ attention and driving sales. To stand out from the crowd, companies are turning to the power of storytelling.

By crafting compelling narratives that resonate with their target audience, brands can increase their visibility, connect on a deeper level, and ultimately drive sales.

Qnow!t has curated 10 magic bullets that will ensure your brand stands out from the rest.

1. Understanding the Power of Storytelling

Storytelling taps into the innate human desire for connection and meaning.

It allows brands to create emotional connections with consumers, making their messages more memorable and engaging. Stories have the ability to evoke emotions, inspire action, and leave a lasting impact on customers’ perceptions of a brand.

2. Defining Brand Values and Purpose

Effective storytelling begins with a clear understanding of a brand’s values and purpose.

Brands need to identify their unique story and determine what they stand for. By aligning their narrative with their core values, brands can convey authenticity and build trust among their audience.

3. Know Your Audience

To craft compelling stories, brands must intimately understand their target audience.

Conduct thorough research to gain insights into your customers’ preferences, needs, and aspirations. This knowledge will help tailor the narrative to resonate with their desires and motivations.

4. Creating Engaging Characters

Characters play a crucial role in storytelling as they give life to the brand’s narrative.

Develop relatable characters that embody the values and aspirations of your target audience. These characters should be well-defined, authentic, and capable of drawing emotions from the audience.

5. Building Narrative Arcs

Every story needs a well-structured narrative arc. Apply storytelling techniques such as introducing a conflict or challenge, building suspense, and providing a resolution.

This framework keeps the audience engaged and creates a sense of anticipation, leading to increased interest in the brand and its offerings.

6. Showcasing Real-Life Examples

Use real-life examples and case studies to demonstrate how your brand has positively impacted customers’ lives.

Highlight success stories, testimonials, or user-generated content that showcases how your products or services have solved problems and made a difference. Authentic stories from satisfied customers serve as powerful social proof, boosting brand credibility and attracting new customers.

7. Leveraging Multiple Channels

Storytelling should extend across multiple marketing channels to maximize visibility. Utilize social media platforms, blogs, videos, podcasts, and other relevant mediums to share your brand’s narrative.

Each channel provides an opportunity to engage with different segments of your audience and amplify the impact of your storytelling efforts.

8. Evoking Emotions

Emotion is a key driver in storytelling. Craft narratives that evoke emotions such as joy, inspiration, empathy, or nostalgia.

By connecting with consumers on an emotional level, brands can forge stronger relationships and create loyal customers who are more likely to advocate for the brand and make repeat purchases.

9. Consistency and Authenticity

Maintain consistency in your brand’s storytelling across all touchpoints. Ensure that your narrative aligns with your brand identity and values.

Authenticity is crucial; customers can easily detect insincerity. Be genuine and transparent in your storytelling, building trust and fostering long-term customer loyalty.

10: Evolving Narratives with Customer Feedback

Listen to your customers and adapt your storytelling strategy based on their feedback. Engage in conversations with your audience through social media, surveys, and customer support channels.

Understand their evolving needs, preferences, and expectations, and adjust your brand narrative accordingly. By incorporating customer feedback, you can ensure that your storytelling remains relevant and resonates with your audience over time.

Long Story Short…

By harnessing the power of storytelling, brands can create meaningful connections, increase visibility, and drive sales.

A well-crafted brand narrative, supported by authentic stories, emotional resonance, and strategic distribution across various channels, can captivate audiences and differentiate your brand from competitors.

In the world of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), keywords play a crucial role in driving organic traffic to your website. By strategically selecting the right keywords, you can improve your website’s visibility and attract the right audience. In this article, we will discuss five essential steps to help you choose keywords for SEO effectively.

1. Find Relevant Keyword Ideas

The first step in keyword research is to generate a list of relevant keyword ideas. Start by brainstorming words or phrases that are directly related to your business, products, or services. Put yourself in the shoes of your target audience and think about what they might search for when looking for information or solutions that your website offers.

To expand your list, you can use various keyword research tools such as Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush, or Moz Keyword Explorer. These tools provide valuable insights into search volume, competition, and related keywords.

2. Evaluate Keyword Metrics

Once you have a list of potential keywords, it’s important to evaluate their metrics to determine their potential value. Look for metrics like search volume and keyword difficulty. Search volume indicates how many people are searching for a particular keyword each month, while keyword difficulty measures how challenging it is to rank for that keyword.

Ideally, you want to target keywords with a decent search volume and relatively low competition. This will give you a better chance of ranking higher in search engine results pages (SERPs).

3. Identify Search Intent

Understanding the search intent behind a keyword is crucial for optimizing your content effectively. Search intent refers to the reason behind a user’s search query – whether they are looking for information, seeking a specific product or service, or intending to make a purchase.

By analyzing the search intent behind different keywords, you can align your content strategy accordingly. For example, if the intent behind a keyword is informational, you can create blog posts or articles that provide valuable information. On the other hand, if the intent is transactional, you can focus on optimizing product pages or landing pages.

4. Analyze the SERP

Analyzing the search engine results pages (SERPs) for your target keywords can provide valuable insights into the competition and user behavior. Take a look at the top-ranking pages and analyze their content, format, and structure. This will give you an idea of what type of content performs well for those keywords.

Additionally, pay attention to the featured snippets, related questions, and other elements that appear in the SERP.

5. Select primary Keywords

When it comes to choosing keywords for SEO, selecting primary keywords is a crucial step. Primary keywords are the main terms or phrases that best represent the content of your website or page.

At this point, you’ll have all you need to ensure that your content gets to your target audience effectively and sell your brand the way you intend to.
